 | I've heard that some flooring products from China have dangerous formaldehyde emissions. Should I be concerned about Taiga products? |
 | All our laminate flooring products meet the European industry standard of an E1 rating for Low Formaldehyde Emissions. Some of our products are even rated E0 (Ultra-low Formaldehyde Emissions). These ratings are a very important part of our product selection criteria. Taiga chooses to align ourselves with manufacturers that share our concern for the environment. |

 | What are AC ratings and why are they important in my flooring decisions? |
 | The common term used to denote the durability level of laminate flooring is its "AC" rating. AC ratings are an abbreviated representation of a laminate's resistance to abrasion, impact, stains and cigarette burns. The first digit indicates the primary application: 2 for residential use, 3,4 or 5 for varying levels of commercial use. The second digit indicates the traffic intensity level: 1 for moderate, 2 for general, 3 for heavy.
Just to give you an example: Taiga Select Flooring’s Desire laminate flooring is available in a 10.5 mm AC4 level. With much stronger durability and scratch resistance, Taiga’s AC4 laminate products set themselves apart and open up endless opportunities for use in commercial applications, such as retail stores, office space and condominiums. |

 | Why is the moisture content of the floor important? |
 | The moisture content is an essential part of quality control within the flooring installation process. Before flooring can be installed, the moisture content of the subfloor should be within 4 percentage points of the flooring that will be laid on it. Generally, your flooring should be kept indoors overnight before installation, so the flooring can achieve a similar moisture level as the subfloor. In most regions, a subfloor that is ready to work on has a moisture content of 12 percent or less. |

 | Should I be concerned about the humidity level in my home? |
 | Wood flooring will perform best when the fluctuation in the environment is controlled to stay within a relative humidity range of 35-50 percent and a temperature of about 20 degrees Celcius Fortunately, that's about the some comfort range most humans enjoy. |
